World Asthma Day 2023: Pulmonologist Dr SZ Zafrey speaks about triggers, precaution we must follow

World Asthma Day is organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), a World Health Organization collaborative organization founded in 1993.  It is held every year on the first Tuesday of May to raise awareness of Asthma worldwide. Let’s hear from our expert, Dr S Z Zafrey, Pulmonologist & Critical Care Expert, Indore Chest & Allergy Centre, about the common triggers that cause this disease. 

What triggers Asthma?

According to him common triggers are pollen from plants, dust mites, animal and insect droppings. 

Can Ayurvedic herbs and spices manage asthma?

According to expert, a lot of herbs have been claimed to cure asthma, but no herb has been proven a cure for asthma.

What to eat and what not to eat

Dr Zafrey says that one can eat anything and should not avoid anything unless and until a person is allergic to something specific. Besides that maintaining a healthy diet is a key.
