In the ever-evolving world of fitness trends, there's a new practice that's gaining popularity. Recently, TikToker Marilyn Smith introduced the 'fart walk' which is going viral on social media.
Marilyn shared that she and her husband lace up their walking shoes and go for a walk about 60 minutes after dinner every day. She mentioned that they eat a lot of fibre, so they have gas and, consequently, fart while walking, which is why it is known as the "fart walk."
Marilyn explained that she realized the benefits of this practice about ten years ago when she went for a walk with her husband and noticed how releasing the farts helped with overall digestion.

Why is body movement essential for proper digestion?

Stimulates Digestive Tract: Physical activity helps stimulate the muscles of the digestive tract, promoting more efficient movement of food and waste through the system.

Reduces Constipation: Regular movement helps prevent constipation by speeding up the movement of waste through the intestines.

Enhances Blood Flow: Exercise increases blood flow to the digestive organs, ensuring they receive the oxygen and nutrients needed to function effectively.

Improves Gut Motility: Regular physical activity helps maintain gut motility, which is the ability of the intestines to contract and move contents through the digestive system.

Regulates Digestive Hormones: Exercise can help regulate the production of digestive hormones and enzymes, aiding in the breakdown and absorption of nutrients.

Reduces Stress: Physical activity reduces stress, which can have a positive impact on digestion. Stress can negatively affect digestive processes and lead to issues like indigestion and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
