While some people are obsessed with hitting 10,000 steps every day, many others can barely get themselves to move or achieve 5000 steps.

Don't worry if you are active enough and move regularly even that is good for your body. Keep reading and you'll know why.

A recent research published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology revealed that taking a minimum of 3,967 steps per day was associated with a lowered risk of mortality from any causes, while 2,337 steps daily reduced the risk of mortality specifically related to cardiovascular diseases.

The analysis of more than 226,000 people around the world showed 4,000 steps were enough to start with for reducing the risk of dying prematurely from any cause.

The team from the Medical University of Lodz in Poland and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in the US found the benefits of walking applied to all genders and ages, regardless of where they lived.
