In a recent incident, a minor boy died and over 50 others fell sick after drinking contaminated water in a village in Karnataka's Raichur.

Drinking contaminated water can cause illnesses such as diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain. You can also get sick if you're using contaminated water for cooking, washing food, preparing drinks, making ice cubes or brushing your teeth.

Hence, it's important to consume clean drinking water. Here are some tips to ensure your drinking water is safe

  • If you're drinking RO water, make sure the water purifier is clean and serviced.
  • Before boiling, you can filter the water with a clean cloth, paper towel, or coffee filter.
  • If the water looks cloudy, always boil it before drinking.
  • Remember to store the boiled water in clean sanitized containers with tight covers.
