Valentine's Day is just a few days away and we bet you are excited to celebrate the day with your loved one. Be it planning a surprise or making something sweet, we all have different ways of celebrating the day of love. If your idea of surprise is to make something thoughtful, cute and delicious, make these heart-shaped rotis!
To make this heart shaped rotis you need 1 cup atta, water (as required), 1 beetroot. Start by kneading a dough using atta and water. Blitz the beetroot to a puree & strain it to extract the juice. Now, divide the dough in two equal parts & mix 2-3 tbsp of the beetroot juice to one part. Knead well till the atta is uniformly coloured. Roll out rotis from both, the normal & coloured dough. Using a heart shape cutter, make a cut in both the rotis. Swap the hearts, roll out the rotis and cook it with some ghee!
Voila! You will have delicious heart shaped, healthy beetroot rotis!
Why we celebrate Valentine's Day
February 14 marks Valentine's Day, traditionally recognized for romance since the 14th century. The Gelasian Sacramentary from the 8th century first noted the Feast of Saint Valentine on this date.
Today, Valentines' Day is celebrated around the world as the day of love.
