Three Indian restaurants make mark among Asia's 50 best restaurants

In another good news, three Indian restaurants have been named among the 50 best restaurants in Asia. Masque in Mumbai clinched the 23rd spot in the list according to Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024.

Following closely behind are Indian Accent in New Delhi at the 26th spot and Avartana ITC Grand Chola in Chennai at the 44th spot.

Shining at the top of the list is Sézanne in Tokyo named the best restaurant in Asia while Florilege in Tokyo took the second spot and Gaggan Anand, an Indian restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand took the third spot.

 Avartana, Chennai

Located within the opulent ITC Grand Chola hotel, Avartana presents a culinary journey through the flavours of the Southern Indian peninsula. Chef Nikhil Nagpal crafts innovative dishes steeped in traditional ingredients, offering tasting menus of different lengths, including vegetarian options. Diners savor a variety of small bites, such as beetroot and curd cheese, cuttlefish with black garlic, coconut and cauliflower, and chargrilled pork belly with steamed tapioca.

 Indian Accent, New Delhi 

Consistently captivating, Indian Accent delights with its innovative fusion of modern cuisine and gracious service. Chef Manish Mehrotra continuously reinvents traditional Indian flavors in his tasting menus, offering inventive twists on classic dishes. Guests are treated to a vibrant array of small bites, including house-made paneer with mustard greens in a creamy, spicy sauce and pickled onion, as well as meetha achaar pork ribs.

Masque, Mumbai

Masque stands out as one of India’s most innovative dining establishments, dedicated to showcasing the abundance of the country's produce. In a chic setting within a former Mumbai textile mill, guests indulge in a 10-course tasting menu that highlights the rich flavors of local ingredients. Founded by restaurateur Aditi Dugar, Masque has garnered numerous awards, including the One To Watch Award in 2020 and the prestigious title of The Best Restaurant in India for consecutive years in 2023 and 2024.
