Movie shows are surely incomplete without popcorn. However, there is a debate on which kind of popcorn is better-microwaved or organic.

To put an end to this debate, Bhakti Kapoor, a nutritionist shared a video in which she explained that microwaved popcorns are not healthy as they are stored in a bag lined with chemicals called per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).  These chemicals have severe effects on health and are associated with infertility, cancer and other health issues.

She shared the video with the caption, that reads:

"It’s movie night! So you throw a bag of popcorn into the microwave and before you know it, that warm, buttery scent is wafting through your home. It sure is convenient (and yummy), but is microwave popcorn healthy? It turns out, most microwave popcorn comes with chemicals that are known to cause long-term health problems in humans."

It was further mentioned in her post,

"These chemicals are known to build up in the body."

Thus, the winner of this debate is organic popcorn, as it can be easily made and is not stored in harmful chemical bags.

She also shared the recipe for making organic popcorn:

  • Just heat up the pan, and add one spoon of oil or butter.
  •  When the oil is hot, place popcorn kernels there, and leave it on medium heat, keeping the lid on.
  • After a couple of minutes, the corn will start popping, and you know it’s ready just when it stops.
