With US President Joe Biden hosting a State Dinner for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 22, a special menu has been prepared since the Indian Prime Minister is vegetarian.
Ahead of the dinner, US First Lady Jill Biden announced that the menu had been prepared by chef Nina Curtis, a plant-based food pioneer. Curtis worked with White House chefs to create unique dishes for the occasion, specially incorporating millets, since India had proposed to observe 2023 as International Year of Millets.
Nina Curtis is Director and Executive Chef for Adventist Health, Roseville Campus Vitaliz Café and Culinary Arts department. She is a popular leader in the plant-based culinary movement.
She has been an advocate for a plant-based lifestyle for the past 20 years. She has worked for renowned names in the hospitality sector like Marriot Group, Hilton Hotels, Baxters, and Manhattan Beach, among others.
