TikTokers have come up with a new term for the dating world which is different from cheating and infidelity. Yes, we're talking about 'micro cheating' a phrase that's growing in popularity on social media.

Some of the most common examples of micro-cheating are not inviting your partner to events, keeping secret friendships, not posting photos with your partner on social media, and flirting with random people or engaging with their social media posts.

The term was first used in 2018, however, it gained popularity on TikTok recently. In fact, the hashtag for the term has garnered over 25 million views on the platform.

While most people are agreeing with the term, others believe that such labels are not required in relationships. According to a relationship counselor,"the key to avoid micro-cheating is to establish clear boundaries and communicate with your partner."

Previously, another term got viral on TikTok; 'micro-wedding,' which meant a smaller-scale wedding ceremony.
