With every scroll on social media, comes a new DIY skin hack or a new beauty regime and we often want to try it. Similarly, steaming our face is one such common DIY.
Recently, dermatologist Aanchal shared a post on Instagram, debunking some facts about face steaming.
In her post, she mentioned that steaming helps remove dead cells, blackheads and whiteheads. However, one should avoid removing whiteheads as they may cause acne. Moreover, people with melasma, dry skin, active acne and irritated skin should avoid taking steam.
Steaming every day or every week can be slightly harsh on the skin. Also, whenever you take steam, limit the process to 10 minutes. You can take steam once or twice a month just to soften blackheads. Make sure to moisturise your face after the steam.
