Met Gala 2024: Mark your calendar for the biggest fashion event, all you need to know

Fashion enthusiasts mark your calendars for May 6 as the biggest star-studded fashion event is about to happen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme of this year's Met Gala dress code will be "The Garden of Time" and will be titled "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion".

Joining the Vogue's Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour this time the co-hosts will be Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Zendaya. And, the honorary chairs are Loewe's creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok's CEO Shou Zi Chew.

About Met Gala 

The Met Gala serves as a fundraiser for the Costume Institute, contributing significantly to its yearly budget. Over the years, it has amassed more than $223.5 million in donations, as reported by the Met. The red carpet preceding the event is a major cultural event, featuring celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Billy Porter, and Rihanna, all dressed in thematic outfits, adding to the spectacle of the night.

Bad Bunny will attend the gala for the third time, while it will be Chris Hemsworth's first appearance. Jennifer Lopez has been invited 13 times, and Zendaya has attended five times. Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Loewe, and Shou Zi Chew, the CEO of TikTok, serve as honorary chairs. TikTok is the main sponsor of the gala, with additional support from Loewe. The exhibition will be open to the public from May 10th to September 2nd, 2024.
