Did you recently get your gel or acrylic nailpaint removed resulting in brittle and weak nails? Well, fret not! We've got you covered.

Here's how you can strengthen your nails as well as prevent them from breaking, according to dermatologists.

Use glass nail files

Opt for glass or crystal nail files over cardboard as they don’t cause microscopic openings and create a clean nail edge instead.

Moisturise with sunflower oil

In order to strengthen nails, it's important to keep your cuticles and nails moisturised. Dermatologists suggest using sunflower oil as its rich in phospholipids and combats brittleness.

Avoid products with formaldehyde

Several nail strengtheners contain formaldehyde or formalin, that can damage nails and cause allergy. So, opt for products formulated without formaldehyde.

Pro tip: Always wear gloves when working with water as too much water leads to peeling, breakage and weakening of nails.
