Caring for your skin during your menstrual cycle involves understanding the hormonal fluctuations that occur and adjusting your skincare routine accordingly. Hormonal changes can lead to various skin issues, hence, it's important to take care of your skin.

According to a skincare expert, the skin tends to feel more dry and sensitive during the seven days of your period as progesterone and estrogen are at their lowest.

Expert recommends using moisturiser and creams with hyaluronic acid. Hormone changes may lead to oil build-up under the skin in some people, therefore, cleansing is an important step during your periods.

Before the periods start, your skin experiences signs of dullness due to the lack of progesterone. Use moisturisers with calming agents such as calamine and calendula or opt for hydra facials in the week prior to menstruation.

The expert also suggested avoiding treatments such as collagen regeneration and lasers that use heat.
