The verdict is that the show truly left everyone in a deep pit.
Balenciaga's runway show was filled with mud, darkness and featured streetwear style. The creative director Demna shared notes on his show and said that it was about stepping outside of boxes and labels imposed by both society and the internet.
Demna said that the set of this show is a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth. He further said that let us let everyone be anyone and make love, not war.

Models with bruised faces and bloodied noses were seen holding baby mannequin's in their arms to show the after-state of a war zone.
Talking about social media, some users hailed Balenciaga for showing what war does to the environment and the people. The rest just mocked the show and wondered, 'how awful it must be smelling in there?'
