At 39 weeks and four days pregnant, a mother of four from California, turned to the "Starbucks Pregnancy Drink" in hopes of inducing labour and shared her experience in a viral TikTok video. In the video, Mika is shown drinking a venti passion tea lemonade from Starbucks with four pumps of raspberry syrup.
The #StarbucksPregnancyDrink, has gained significant attention on TikTok with over 6.7 million views. Many expecting mothers are intrigued by the idea that this concoction could kickstart the labour process.
Despite the lack of solid scientific evidence, pregnancy resource WhatToExpect.com mentions that items like spicy foods, balsamic vinegar, dates and raspberry leaf tea are often thought to induce labour.
Experts on the website note that red raspberry leaf tea is believed to enhance uterine blood flow, potentially triggering contractions.
However, a report by the American Pharmacists Association suggests minimal to no substantial connection between raspberry tea consumption and the initiation of labour.
