The constitutional crisis in Sri Lanka that was triggered by shocking sacking of PM Ranil Wickremesinghe by President Sirisena has deepened as the sacked PM has refused to give in. Wickremesinghe continued to occupy Temple Trees, the official residence of the prime minister, and insisted in a letter to Sirisena that he was still in office. After the rushed in swearing in of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa as new PM, the Parliament speaker has said that he will decide on whether to recognise Rajapaksa as PM after taking legal advice
