Ladakh to get world's first glaciated motorable road

Ladakh is all set to get the world's first glaciated motorable road. Called Project HIMANK, the Border Roads Organisation has undertaken it. The road will connect Sasoma to Saser La in eastern Ladakh and is being built at an altitude of 18,000 feet. This will help overcome the danger of unstable glaciers.
