Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane, who is on a 2-day visit to Ladakh to review situation in the wake of rising tensions with China, on Friday said that forces' morale is high and jawans are fully prepared to deal with any situation.
The Army chief has been briefed by senior field commanders on the ground situation along the Line of Actual Control. The visit comes in the backdrop of renewed tensions with China after Indian troops thwarted an aggression attempt by the PLA on Monday.
They (the jawans) are highly motivated. Their morale is high & they're fully prepared to deal with any situation that may arise, the Army chief said. He added: "our officers & men are the finest in the world & will make not only the Army but also the nation proud".
General Naravane said that the situation along LAC is slightly tensed and the Army has undertaken "precautionary deployment for our own safety & security, so that our security & integrity remain safeguarded".
