Global labour income is estimated to have declined by 10.7 per cent or $3.5 trillion in the first three quarters of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the International Labour Organization has said. The ILO said that loss in working hours due to the pandemic has brought a 'massive' drop in labour income for workers around the world. The biggest drop was in the lower-middle income countries, where the labour income losses reached 15.1 per cent, with the Americas being the hardest hit region at 12.1 per cent.
