Global private equity giant KKR will invest ₹5,500 crore for a 1.28% equity stake into the retail arm of Reliance Industries.
As per the RIL's exchange filing, this investment values Reliance Retail at a pre-money equity value of ₹4.21 lakh crore. This marks the second investment by KKR in a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, following a ₹11,367 crore investment in Jio Platforms announced earlier this year.
This is the second deal by Reliance Retail in two weeks after PE major Silver Lake Partners had said that it will invest ₹7,500 crore in the company for a 1.75% stake.
