The win helped them get 3 points as they won their 11th crown and the first in 7 years. Real Madrid finished 2nd behind Atletico as they also won their final game of the season 2-1 against Villarreal. This is the first time in 12 years that Real Madrid failed to win a single trophy in a season. Barcelona without their star player Lionel Messi also finished the season with a 1-0 win over already-relegated Eibar as Antoine Griezmann scored the only goal of the game. With the win, Ronald Koeman's team finished 3rd in La Liga title race.
