Karnataka sex tape row: SIT detains 1 in Jarkiholi scandal

Karnataka government has set up a seven-member SIT to probe the scandal involving former state minister Ramesh Jarkiholi. A meeting was held on Friday morning to finalise the members of this SIT formed to investigate the scandal that led to Karnataka minister Ramesh Jarkiholi's resignation.

Within hours of its formation, the SIT detained Bhuvit Aldur.

Earlier this month, BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi resigned from the CM BS Yediyurappa's cabinet following allegations of sexual harassment.

Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai told reporters that Jarkiholi had in letter alleged that it was a politically motivated attempt to defame him and requested a thorough investigation.
