'Jokes need no defence': Comic Kunal Kamra refuses to apologise to SC

Comedian Kunal Kamra has refused to apologise in response to a contempt notice issued to him by the Supreme Court. In his reply, Kamra has stated that "there is no defence needed for jokes as they are not reality ut comedian's perception". Kamra was issued notice by the Supreme Court for his criticism of the top court in tweets last year. Kamra has added that his posts on Twitter were not made with the intention of "diminishing faith of people in judiciary". KK Venugopal, the government's top law, had said that Kamra's tweets were "in bad taste" and "crossed the line between humour and contempt".
