JioPhone Next the much awaited afforadable smartphone is going to dial in a later launch day as chip shortage has hit the roll out plan for Asia's richest man and Google.

In a statement issue Mukesh Ambani backed Reliance said Jit has been testing the smartphone with a “limited set of users for further refinement” and is “actively working to make it available more widely” around the time of Diwali festival, which is scheduled for early November.

Putting the blame on the ongoing global semiconductor shortage Jio expects the additional two months “will” mitigate that.

From India's largest car maker Maruti to the makers of Jaguar everyone is facing delays in production due to the global chip shortage.
