The Joint Admission Board of JEE (Main) has decided to conduct the examination in more regional languages, Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced on Thursday. He added that it is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
In a tweet he added, entry to State Engineering Colleges will be decided based on an examination conducted in regional languages.
He said that the decision was taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi pointed out that top-scoring countries in PISA test or the Programme for International Student Assessment, an exam conducted by OECD nations, uses mother tongue as a medium of instruction.
