Japanese minister hits back at #KuToo movement

Hitting back at the #KuToo movement in Japan, the health and labour minister said that heels at work were "socially accepted as something that falls within the realm of being occupationally necessary and appropriate." Takumi Nemoto made the comments at a parliamentary committee meeting on Wednesday. The #KuToo movement which started against discriminatory workplace dress codes such as compulsory high heels at work has been gaining traction online.
