Former managing director of Maruti Suzuki, Jagdish Khattar, passed away on Monday due to a cardiac arrest.
Jagdish Khattar an IAS office joined Maruti in 1993 as marketing director as a government representative and led the transformation of the automobile giant from a PSU to a wholly-owned Suzuki subsidiary. In 2002 the Japanese auto maker appointed Jagdish Khattar as MD as well, a post he served till his retirement in 2007
Mr. Khattar was 78-years old and had founded Carnation, an automobile service company, in 2008.
