Kolkata Knight Riders may have ended first leg of the IPL on the 7th spot but the Knights began the UAE leg with a bang by thrashing RCB by 9 wickets on Monday.

Virat Kohli's decision to bat first backfired as 3 wickets each by Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell bundled out RCB for just 92. The run chase proved to be a cakewalk for KKR openers as they stitched an 82-run stand. Shubman Gill fell 2 runs short of a fifty but Venkatesh Iyer impressed on debut and finished the game off with an unbeaten 27-ball-41.

The Knight Riders earned their 3rd win of the season with 10 overs to spare as it is now their largest victory in the history of the IPL in terms of balls remaining.
