American chipmaker Intel has launched its first 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors with the company’s new integrated Xe graphics for future thin-and-light laptops. Intel says the next-gen processors offer big improvements in performance and battery life over the previous Ice Lake chips, in addition to support for 8K HDR displays or up to four simultaneous 4K60 displays. Intel is launching nine new 11th Gen designs for both its U-series and Y-series class chips, which offer a maximum single core turbo boost of up to 4.8GHz, and a maximum all-core boost of up to 4.3GHz. The integrated Thunderbolt 4 support and Wi-Fi 6 bring the best-in-class wired and wireless connectivity. They’re also the first with hardware-supported Dolby Vision and are promised to deliver up to twice the graphics and game performance over the previous generation. Intel said the new processors will arrive in more than 150 designs from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo and others.
