Indian-American Raja Chari in NASA's team for 2024 moon mission

Indian-American Astronaut Raja Chari is among the 18 astronauts shortlisted for NASA's lunar mission, which aims to land the first woman and next man on the Moon in 2024.

Mike Pence, Vice president of the US introduced the Artemis team consisting of 9 men and 9 women during the 8th National Space Council meeting at NASA's Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. 

Chari, whose father had immigrated to the US from Hyderabad was among the 11 new NASA graduates who completed their initial astronaut candidate training in 2020 and is now eligible to participate in the mission.
