India's infrastructure output in June up 8.9% y-o-y vs 16.8% in May

India's infrastructure output in June rose 8.9% year-on-year, compared with 16.8% in the previous month, government data on Friday showed.

The data released by the commerce and industry ministry on July 30 showed that production declined in just one out of the eight core sector industries - crude oil.
Positive growth was seen in seven out of eight sectors.

Data released by the industry department showed that the coal sector grew 0.4% from May to June.

Crude oil production continued to contract, falling by 1.8 percent in June.
Refinery output and steel production in June eased from double-digit growth in May.

Cement production rose by a smaller margin of 4.3 percent, while electricity output rose by 7.2 percent in June. Fertilizer production turned positive.
