India on Wednesday reported 1,84,372 new Covid-19 cases in highest-ever single-day spike. The new infections pushed the total cases to over 1.38 crore, while deaths rose by 1,027 to 172,085, according to Union Health Ministry data.
The country has seen seeing over 1.5 lakh new cases for the fourth straight day and over one lakh cases for the eighth straight day.
With over 1,000 people dying in the last 24 hours, this is the highest daily death count in nearly six months.
