Ramesh and his younger sibling, Jogi Ramu, were detained by the Excise department authorities on Sunday morning and subsequently presented before a local court.

"The arrests were made after clearly explaining the reasons, which include the illegal production, transportation, import, and sale of counterfeit liquor," the remand report provided by an official states.

The brothers face charges under the Andhra Pradesh Excise Act, 1968, the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition Act, 1995, among several other relevant legal provisions.
