Mumbai, May 27 (PTI): A tragic incident unfolded in Vikhroli, an eastern suburb of Mumbai, where a 25-year-old woman reportedly took her own life by leaping from the 23rd floor of a high-rise building, the police reported on Tuesday.

The shocking event took place in the Kannamwar Nagar area on Monday night, according to an official statement.

Authorities identified the victim as Harshada Tandolkar, who was known to be mentally distressed, although the specific reason behind her decision remains unclear.

Harshada plummeted from the 23rd floor and landed on a parked motorcycle, resulting in a horrifying scene as her body was severely damaged, the official described.

Upon noticing the aftermath, local residents promptly informed the police, leading to the registration of an accidental death report (ADR) based on initial findings, the official added.
