After conquering the Moon, India on Sept 1 launched its maiden Sun Mission--Aditya L1. And like Chandrayaan-3, the Aditya L1 too had backing of 'Nari Shakti' under its Project Director Nigar Shaji.

Hailing from Tamil Nadu's Tenkasi Shaji joined ISRO in 1987.

Following the successful launch of India's solar mission amid cheers and claps, Shaji said, it's a dream come true.

Notably, Shaji was also the Associate Project Director of Resourcesat-2A.

She acquired her BE in electronics and communication from Madurai Kamaraj University and did her masters in Electronics from BIT Ranchi. She was also the Head of Satellite telemetry centre in ISRO, Bengaluru.
