The Supreme Court gave sharp remarks for Gujarat High Court saying no Indian court can pass a ruling against the superior court.
The critical comments were connected to a petition filed by a rape survivor who sought an abortion. Gujarat HC blocked relief to the woman while the SC had permitted abortion.
The Supreme Court sought a response from Gujarat officials and called out the court’s “lackadaisical attitude.”
The Supreme Court bench, which consisted of Justice B V Nagarathna and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, said that the act was “against constitutional philosophy.”
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that Gujarat High Court passed the order to rectify a “clerical error,” adding that it was a “misunderstanding,” as per NDTV.

“We as the state government will request the judge to recall the order,” Mehta said.
