Railways minister Ashwini Vashinaw reached the accident site in West Bengal's Rangapani near New Jalpaiguri station to take stock of the situation.
Ashwini rode pillion on a motorbike for some distance to the accident site as the road was narrow for bigger vehicles to move.
He later met with the injured who were undergoing treatment at North Bengal Medical College in Siliguri.
