At least 5 persons were injured in a crude bomb blast in Bengal's South 24 Parganas hours ahead of the vote counting day. According to the News18 outlet, one of the injured is a panchayat member of the Indian Secular Front. It has been reported that the blast took place while some of them were making a bomb.

“If any of our workers are hurt, we will see to it. I request our workers to keep calm and not fall into any trap of TMC. We will do well and will celebrate our win but we will not allow any intimidation by TMC,” says BJP’s state unit chief Sukanta Majumdar.
