Violence erupted in Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad University as students and security guards clashed on the campus. According to reports, stones were thrown at security guards and police. A bike was also set on fire. Videos also show the guards and police hitting students with sticks.
Media outlets reported the brawl started after a student leader, part of the months-long protest against fee hike, was denied entry into the university.
Police have said that the situation at the univeristy is now under control.
