Violence in Haldwani after police razes 'illegal' building, curfew imposed

Clashes broke out in Uttarakhand's Haldwani after the police razed a building they claimed was illegal. According to reports, people living near the building pelted stones and set police vehicles on fire after IT was demolished.

India Today reported that the mob also set a transformer on fire leading to a power outage. Additional forces have been deployed to Halwani in view of the violence.
