An avalanche struck Gandhi Sarovar in Uttarakhand's Kedarnath around 5 am on Sunday. A police official said that occurred on a hill about 4 km away from the Kedarnath temple as a result of the cracking of snow due to sunlight.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rudraprayag, Dr Vishakha Ashok Bhadane told ANI, "There was an avalanche from above Gandhi Sarovar in Kedarnath at around 5 am today. But there has been no loss of life or property."
A video shared by an official handle by Shri Kedarnath showed a cascade of snow and debris tumbling down a steep slope right behind the revered temple. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
