Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched the “Samarth Uttar Pradesh – Viksit Uttar Pradesh @2047” campaign, urging people to actively contribute to the state’s vision of becoming a developed state by 2047.

Addressing a workshop at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, he called for collective participation, stressing that the aspirations of society must be reflected in the development roadmap.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled the Samarth Uttar Pradesh portal, which allows citizens to submit suggestions that will be integrated into the Vision Document 2047. The document, being prepared under the theme of “Economic Strength, Innovation, and Vitality,” will cover 12 sectors including agriculture, health, education, industry, IT, infrastructure, tourism, rural and urban development, social welfare, security, and governance.

More than 400 retired officials and experts from fields such as administration, agriculture, health, and policing attended the workshop, which opened with a short film highlighting the state’s progress since 2017. The initiative has been aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat @2047” vision, with Yogi Adityanath emphasizing that every citizen must be made a partner in development. “Retirement does not mean fatigue; your wisdom will energize this campaign,” he told senior citizens and intellectuals.

The Chief Minister recalled India’s economic transformation, noting that the country’s share of global GDP had fallen from 25 percent in the 16th–17th centuries to just 2 percent in 1947. “Under PM Modi, India has risen from the 11th largest economy in 2014 to fourth today, and is poised to become third by 2027,” he said. He added that Uttar Pradesh too has witnessed a turnaround, with its GSDP rising from ₹13 lakh crore to ₹35 lakh crore in eight years, making it the country’s second-largest and fastest-growing state economy.

Highlighting the state’s transformation from a “BIMARU state” to a growth engine, Yogi Adityanath credited initiatives such as the One District One Product scheme, which has boosted MSMEs and pushed exports to ₹2 lakh crore. He also referred to COVID-19 relief measures that supported one crore people, including 40 lakh artisans.

Outlining the campaign’s roadmap, the Chief Minister said seminars will be held in educational institutions in the first phase, followed by the active participation of ministers, MPs, and MLAs. Resolutions will be passed in gram panchayats and wards, while public feedback will be collected through QR codes and classified into short-, medium-, and long-term action plans.

He further pointed out that the UP Assembly has already held extensive discussions on Sustainable Development Goals and the Viksit Uttar Pradesh vision, with active involvement from all political parties. Referring to deliberations at IIT Kanpur on AI, cybersecurity, and sustainability, he said the state, once plagued by farmer suicides and MSME closures, is regaining its status as a hub of learning and industry.

“If Uttar Pradesh can transform from a BIMARU state into a growth engine in just eight years, achieving the goal of a developed state by 2047 is well within reach,” the Chief Minister said, calling for collective effort under the Shatabdi Sankalp 2047 campaign.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Cabinet Ministers Swatantra Dev Singh and Surya Pratap Shahi, Chief Secretary (in charge) Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary Alok Kumar, Sanjay Prasad, along with several senior officials and intellectuals.
