Uttar Pradesh government has approved a proposal to increase the retirement age of Bhasha Sansthan employees from 58 to 60 years, aligning it with other autonomous institutions, according to a statement issued on Thursday.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said, "Other autonomous institutions under the same department have already implemented the revised retirement age of 60 years. This decision brings parity among staff across similar bodies."

The proposal, following a 2013 state government order dated August 12, will increase the retirement age for employees here, promoting and preserving the languages and literature of the state-run organisation.
