Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will distribute nearly ₹21 crore in financial assistance to 431 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana for the 2025–26 financial year. The distribution ceremony is scheduled for Friday at Shivbaba Maidan in Ambedkar Nagar.

As part of the support package, 408 beneficiaries will receive ₹5 lakh each. In addition, selected recipients will be handed demo cheques worth ₹2.5 lakh, ₹1.25 lakh, and ₹1 lakh. The total amount will be transferred directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana, the Yogi government has sanctioned aid for 11,690 individuals across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh for FY 2025–26. This amounts to a total distribution of ₹561.86 crore to families impacted by farm-related accidents.

Launched on 14 September 2019, the scheme has seen consistent growth in its budget allocation. The initial allotment in FY 2020–21 stood at ₹500 crore, and the support for farmers and their families has steadily increased since then.

According to a statement from the state government, “The Yogi government is always standing with farmers in both happiness and sorrow. In case of death or disability of a farmer in an accident, the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana has become a support for the dependents and families.”

The release further highlights the hardships faced by families in the aftermath of such accidents: “In any unfortunate incident, the dependent family faces a financial crisis, causing many problems in their daily life.” At such times, the scheme provides a critical lifeline: “The Yogi government is providing support to these families through this scheme.”

As per the provisions of the scheme, financial assistance of up to ₹5 lakh is provided in the event of accidental death or disability.
