Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh - Tragedy Strikes Bedouli Village

In a heart-wrenching incident in Bedouli village, Prayagraj, four young children tragically drowned in a water-filled pit, as reported by the local police on Wednesday. The unfortunate incident has cast a shadow of grief over the community.

Details of the Incident

Assistant Commissioner of Police, SP Upadhyay, stated that the police received an alarming report around 7 PM on Tuesday regarding the disappearance of four children, aged between three and five years. The children, who were part of a tribal community, had been playing near their homes when they vanished without a trace.

A frantic search operation was launched immediately, but it wasn't until Wednesday morning that the devastating discovery was made. The bodies of the young ones were found in a nearby field where a pit, previously excavated for soil, was filled with water. Prima facie, it appears the cause of death is drowning.

The police have sent the bodies to SRN Hospital for a postmortem examination to confirm the cause of death and will proceed with legal actions based on the findings. The deceased children have been identified as Vaishnavi (3), Hunar (5), Kanha (5), and Khesari (5).

Response from the Authorities

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed profound grief over the tragic loss of such young lives. In his statement, he conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and emphasized the need for immediate financial assistance to be provided to them through the relevant authorities.
