Strict action has been taken against five officers who failed to attend a review meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.

Divisional Commissioner Anil Dhingra ordered a one-day salary deduction for the officers and also recommended departmental proceedings against them.

The action was taken against the Project Managers of C&DS Units 14, 19 and 42, the Executive Engineer of Uttar Pradesh Rajya Nirman Sahakari Sangh (UPRNSS)-I, and the Principal of BRD Medical College, all of whom were absent during the review meeting.

Earlier in the day, CM Yogi Adityanath interacted with citizens during the Janata Darshan programme held outside the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan. Having stayed overnight at the Gorakhnath temple, he personally met nearly 200 people, listened to their concerns, and assured them of timely resolution.

“There must be no delay in resolving public issues. Every solution should be qualitative, transparent, and satisfactory. The government is committed to addressing every concern of the people,” the Chief Minister emphasised.

During the interaction, CM Yogi went to the people seated on chairs and heard their problems one by one. He handed over their applications to the concerned officials with clear directions to ensure quick and fair disposal, assuring citizens that no injustice would be tolerated. He also urged officers to adopt a sensitive approach while helping victims.

The Chief Minister further instructed strict legal action against those involved in illegal land encroachment or exploitation of the weak. Several individuals sought financial assistance for medical treatment of serious illnesses, to which CM Yogi assured full government support. He directed officials to prepare cost estimates without delay and forward them to the government for immediate approval.
