Etah (UP), Jul 3 (PTI) — In a tragic incident in the Kasganj district, a man has been accused of murdering his five-month pregnant wife following a domestic dispute. Authorities reported on Thursday that Brajbala, aged 25, succumbed to injuries sustained after allegedly being beaten by her husband, Ramu, which resulted in her falling from the roof of their home. The altercation, which occurred on Wednesday evening, allegedly arose over a minor argument concerning excess salt in the meal Brajbala had prepared. The dispute quickly escalated, culminating in a violent attack from Ramu that led to Brajbala's fatal fall. Family members, responding swiftly, transported her to the district hospital. However, due to the severity of her condition, she was transferred to Aligarh Medical College, where she unfortunately passed away during treatment on Thursday. Accusations from Brajbala's brother surfaced after her death, suggesting that an illicit affair between Ramu and his sister-in-law was a recurring source of conflict in the marriage. In the wake of the incident, Ramu attempted to flee but was later captured by villagers in a nearby residence and handed over to the police. Additional Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Bharti, confirmed that a case has been registered against Ramu and that investigations are currently in progress. The police have taken Brajbala's body for a post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
