Two Transgender Individuals Arrested for Alleged Attack on RPF Inspector at Deoria Station

Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, September 1 (PTI): Two transgender individuals have been apprehended for allegedly attacking an RPF inspector at Deoria Sadar Railway Station. The incident took place after the inspector attempted to intervene in their purported extortion activities targeting passengers, according to local police.

Inspector Aas Mohammad of the Railway Protection Force informed reporters about prior passenger complaints regarding harassment and extortion by a group of transgender persons at the station.

Responding to these grievances, the RPF inspector arrived at the location in plainclothes late on Sunday night and cautioned the individuals against engaging in such activities. In response, they allegedly confronted and attacked him.

The inspector further alleged that the accused were intoxicated and suggested they might be "fake transgenders."

A formal case has been lodged at the Government Railway Police Station, and the two accused, identified as Sahil and Chand, have been arrested.

A video of the confrontation has surfaced online, evidently showing the inspector’s interaction with the accused individuals.
