Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jun 25 (PTI) - In a tragic incident, three individuals lost their lives and two suffered injuries when their car collided with a road divider and overturned in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, according to police information released on Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 11 PM on Tuesday while the group of five friends was traveling back on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Jalgaon highway, near Bilda village in Phulambri tehsil.

The vehicle, moving at high speed, struck the road divider and subsequently overturned, as per a police official's statement.

Sadly, the collision proved fatal for three of the car's occupants, identified as Syed Maruf (18), Arfat Bagwan (20), and Rehan Syed, all residents of the local area, who died instantly on the scene, the official confirmed.

The remaining two individuals sustained injuries and were promptly transported by the Phulambri police to a government hospital for necessary medical treatment.
