Thane: A 27-year-old man sustained injuries in a shooting incident linked to a property dispute with a relative in Thane district, Maharashtra, police reported on Wednesday. The event unfolded on Tuesday evening in the vicinity of Lonad village, located within the Bhiwandi area.

The victim, identified as Vicky Dalvi, was en route to a medical facility on his motorcycle when he was intercepted by his relative and two accomplices. They allegedly fired at him from a revolver at a very close range before escaping the scene, according to a police official. Dalvi incurred serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment, the official noted.

The altercation is rooted in a continuing land dispute between the parties involved, the official added. The Padgha police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the trio under Section 109(1) (attempt to murder) and Section 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Arms Act. Efforts are underway to apprehend the accused, authorities confirmed.
